Birthday Eve

My baby boy will be waking up a one-year-old in the morning and I don't know if my
heart can handle it. This has been the best year of my life, and it has flown by faster
than I could have imagined.

I  think back to those early newborns days and it seems both like it was a
lifetime and just yesterday. How is my baby already going to be a
year old? I know life will go on and my days with him will only get more fun, but
it's still hard to not feel a need to mourn the end of his babyhood.

Thanks for being my baby, Henry boy.
You have brought me more joy than you will ever know!

I just wanted a cute picture

Hank got a fresh haircut and all I wanted as I put him down for a nap was a cute picture of his new do
He had a different idea; after all, I was interrupting his personal party time.

I should have known better - this baby doesn't sit still for anything, especially a photo!

80th Birthdays!

Grandma & Grandpa Lambert both celebrate their 80th birthdays this
spring and they deserved a big party to celebrate! Scott and Kari surprised us all by
flying in for 24 hours to be a part of the festivities. It had been a
very long time since the whole Lambert extended family had been together, and it was
so much fun to see everyone! (We missed Andrew and Kristen!)

Happy Birthday to Grandma & Grandpa!!
How lucky we are to have their examples and to be a part of their family!

11 Months of Henry

Our boy continues to be as happy as can be, while adding a bit of attitude to the mix.
He has no interest in walking; probably because he's a speed crawler and doesn't
want to take the time to learn. He loves, loves, loves people! His first word
was "Hi!" (said "Hi-eeee! Hiii. Hi. Hi-ee!!" all in a row). He says this all day long
- to his toys, to every single person we pass at the store, when I get him out of bed, to himself in the mirror, to pictures in his books, etc.

This month he has seemed more like a little boy and less like a baby to me. Which is
fun and exciting but heart breaking at the same time.

Life with our Henry boy just gets better and better!

Easter 2016

We had a wonderful first Easter with our Henry boy! It was a day spent with
family and remembering the sacrifices our Savior made for us.

Oh, sweet the JOY this sentence gives: "I know that my Redeemer lives!"

Is it just me or has Henry turned into a little boy over night? Where did my baby go???

Banana Muffins

My baby threw his first tantrum tonight.

We're talking full on screaming bloody murder at the top of his lungs. He was in his high chair
refusing to eat his dinner of stir fry and rice. I knew he was very tired, but he had never acted
like this before. I called Michael at school so he could hear the wails firsthand. Then it hit me - there
was a container of  banana muffins (his new favorite food) on the counter and he was letting it be
known that he wanted those for dinner instead. Who knew some innocent muffins could
cause so much frustration?!

He didn't get the muffins and we were both miserable for a while. Parenting is no joke and I
feel like I got my first tiny taste of it tonight.

Now that he's in bed and sleeping like an angle, I'm using these photos to remind myself
of how sweet and darling he normally is. I will try a little harder to be a little more patient tomorrow.

10 Months of Henry

Time keeps marching on and our baby boy is somehow ten months old!
About 50 times a day Michael and I say to each other
"We have the best kid in the world!" or "We have the cutest baby ever!"
I guess you could say we are pretty in love with our little buddy.
